Grief is the thing with feathers
I made an alternative book cover for the book "Grief is the Thing with Feathers" written by Max Porter. It is a beautiful and humorous book about grieving. When I was reading the book the story came alive right away. (The following sentences contain spoilers). In the beginning of the book a big black bird visits a widower and his two sons. He came to stay as long as needed to overcome their grieving period. At the end of the book the bird disappears and the man scatters the ashes of his deceased wife. When you look at the book and open it you will only see the birds. when you finish reading the last thing you will see is the man scattering the ash. This is the moment you will realise that the ashes transform into the birds and that the cover is one big image.
