Icelandic volcanic rivers
I wanted to make a complex zine, with a lot of unfolding going on. I was playing around with material from my archive when I stumbled on the images I used for the zine. Aerial photo's of volcanic rivers, and an amazing illustration from the children's book "Ronja the robbersdaughter" where my starting point. The otherworldly rivers make a perfect surrounding for the black and white illustrations. The zine is handbound and printed on beautiful pearlescent paper and translucent paper that enhances the unexpected colors, shapes and textures of the volcanic rivers.
